Las Pirámides de Meroe, Sudán // Meroe's Pyramids, in Sudan

No tienen el tamaño, ni la cantidad de turistas que las más célebres pirámides en Egipto. Pero el complejo arqueológico de las pirámides de Meroe, en el desierto de Nubia (norte de Sudán) son imponentes desde lejos, solitarias, y enmarcadas por las enormes dunas que conforman un ambiente intrigante y por demás bello.
Se encuentran a 200 kilómetros de la capital de Sudán, en la ribera de una amplia curva del Nilo, y en sus ruinas, se develan palacios, edificios de la corte, templos y los restos de la ciudad propiamente dicha, con murallas, templos más pequeños, santuarios y una necrópolis con mil tumbas. Aunque la pirámide más grande no llega a los 30 metros de altura, son más de 100, de ángulos acentuados, y aún, imponentes.

They haven´t the size, or the number of tourists that the most famous pyramids in Egypt have. But the archaeological complex of pyramids of Meroe, in the Nubian Desert (northern Sudan) are impressive from afar, solitary, and enclosed by huge sand dunes that make up an intriguing environment and other beautiful.
It is located 200 kilometers from the capital of Sudan, on the banks of a wide bend of the Nile, and its ruins are revealed palaces, court buildings, temples and the remains of the city proper, with walls, temples small shrines and a necropolis with a thousand graves. Although the largest pyramid is less than 30 meters high, more than 100 of angles prominent, and still, impressive.
