Valle de Þingvellir // Þingvellir Valley

En la orilla norte del lago Þingvallavatn, el más grande de Islandia, se encuentra el valle de Þingvellir, un parque nacional incluido en la ruta turística más famosa del país. Declarado además como Patrimonio de la Humanidad, el Parque Þingvellir es un de los lugares más bellos del mundo para observar la aurora boreal.
 El Parque Nacional Þingvellir posee además del atractivo paisajístico, un valor histórico: en sus gélidos paisajes funcionó por siglos una de las instituciones parlamentarias más antiguas del mundo, el Alþingi. El Alþingi, era una congregación que se reunía actualmente para recitar leyes y decidir disputas entre los habitantes del área.
Las formaciones tectónicas, con fallas que atraviesan el paisaje, sumados a la actividad volcánica completan un panorama paisajístico realmente impresionante durante el día.
Observar la aurora boreal en Þingvellir, es una de las experiencias más recomendables de Islandia.

On the north shore of Lake Thingvallavatn, the largest in Iceland, is situated the valley of Thingvellir, a national park included in the most famous tourist route in the country. Also declared as a World Heritage Site, the  Þingvellir park is one of the most beautiful in the world, perfect to observe the aurora borealis.
Þingvellir National Park also has the attractive landscape and historical value: in the icy landscapes worked for centuries one of the oldest parliamentary institutions in the world, the Althingi. The Althingi, was a congregation that met today to recite laws and decide disputes between the inhabitants of the area.
The tectonic, with faults that cross the landscape, coupled with the volcanic landscape complete an impressive panorama during the day.
Watching the Northern Lights at Þingvellir is one of the most desirable of Iceland.
